BEFORE FIRST USE
WARNING:
DO NOT let young children play with the appliance, or any part of
it, or the packaging! The blades of the blade assembly are very sharp. Only touch
the blade assembly by its base. Ensure that the ratings of your power supply are as
indicated on the model label of the appliance. See: ›Safeguards for Electrical Appli-
ances‹.
1. Unpack the appliance and all accessories carefully.
2. Check that no parts are damaged or missing (see: ›Knowing Your »Design Micro
Blender«‹).
3. Carefully remove all shipping materials and promotional materials. However,
DO NOT remove the model label.
WARNING:
Always unplug, before cleaning. Do not immerse the motor base or
power cord in water or other liquids or spill any liquids on the motor base or power
cord. Do not use any abrasive cleaners for cleaning to avoid damage to the sur-
faces.
Do not place the motor base or power cord in an automatic dish-
washer.
4. Before first use and after a longer period of storage, separate the jars, lids and
blade assembly. Clean these parts in warm soapy water.
5. Wipe the exterior of the motor base with a damp sponge or cloth, and dry the
appliance and all parts thoroughly. See: ›Care and Cleaning‹.
Tip:
Jars and lids are dishwasher safe. For this, unscrew the blade assembly from the
jar before placing in the dishwasher. It is recommended that the lids and the blade
assembly are placed on the top rack.
