No steam.
The appliance is still
heating.
Wait until the POWER button is illuminated continuously
but not flashing.
The water tank is empty. Fill the water tank.
The steam function is not
selected.
The machine will give off steam only, if the STEAM
button is flashing. Each time, you turn the selection
dial back to the vertical position, the hot water function
will be selected automatically. Press the STEAM button
again, if you wish to operate the steam function.
You took too much hot
water or started too
many brewing cycles one
after the other.
After producing large amounts of hot water, the tempe-
rature of the heating system will drop significantly. Turn
the selection dial back to the vertical position and wait
until the POWER button is illuminated continuously,
before starting the steam function again. Do not take
more than 500 ml of hot water in a run.
Not enough froth is pro-
duced when texturing
milk.
The steam function has
not been selected, before
texturing milk.
Press the STEAM button each time before you turn the
selection dial to the HOT WATER / STEAM position.
The appliance did not
reach the correct opera-
ting temperature.
Before operation, always wait until the POWER button
is illuminated continuously but not flashing.
The hot water / steam
wand is blocked.
Remove the obstacle via the needle of the cleaning pin.

alternatives will texture
differently.
You may need to adjust your texturing procedure. See:

The milk is not really
fresh.
Only use really fresh, cold milk for texturing.
The machine is ‘on’ but
ceases to operate.
Possibly, the overheat
protection is active.
Switch OFF and unplug the appliance. Wait 60
minutes. Then try again. If the problem persists, call an
authorized service centre.
Steam is coming out of
the group head.
You selected the brewing
function without the por-
tafilter installed.
This is normal operation. The pre-injection first gives off
some hot water/steam for moistening the coffee pow-
der, before building up the final pressure for extraction.
