STORAGE
WARNING
– Young children must be supervised that they do not play with
the appliance or any part of it. When the appliance is not in use, always unplug
the appliance and empty the kettle completely. Always leave the kettle cool down,
before storing the appliance. Do not leave the power base connected to the
power supply, when it is not in use. Avoid moving the cantilever manually, becau-
se this results in excessive load to the mechanics and motor drive. If required, use
the dedicated special function for moving the cantilever to the park position (see:
‘Special Functions’).
Always handle the kettle with special care to avoid damage to the glass body. The
power cord may never be knotted, twisted, pulled, strained or squeezed. Do not let
the plug or power cord hang down.
Do not place any hard or heavy objects on or in the appliance or any part of it. Do
not use any parts or accessories of the appliance for any other appliance or any
other purpose than described in this booklet.
For moving the appliance: Do not hold the appliance by the power cord or cantile-
ver to avoid damage. Remove the kettle from the power base to prevent the kettle
from falling.
Please store the appliance on a clean and dry surface where it is protected against
excessive load (e.g. mechanical strain, electric shock, moisture, heat, frost. direct
sunlight) and out of reach of young children and animals.
1. Clean the appliance and, if required, descale the kettle, before storing (see:
‘Care and Cleaning’). If required, move the cantilever to the park position by
holding the AUTO STEEP button pressed until the signal sounds (see: ‘Special
Functions / Moving the Cantilever to the Park Position’).
2. For storage, you may wind the power cord around the cord storage at the bot-
tom of the power base.
3. Place the power base on a clean, stable, and level surface, where the appli-
ance cannot fall. You may hang the lid on the support at the rear of the pillar.
4. Install the lid ring on the kettle. Assemble the filter system and insert the filter sys-
tem in the kettle. This is the best way to protect these parts and the interior of the
kettle from dust, damage, and loss. Place the kettle onto the power base.
5. If required, you may lay the power cord loosely into the gap between the pillar
and the kettle.
