7.5 ADJUSTING THE BLADES
According to the different specific weights of the fertilizers, change
the position of the blades on the spreading discs by fixing them
in the stops 1-2-3-4-5 (fig.17).
One of the two blades is equipped with a graduated sliding plate
(Fig.18). The small stops on the sliding plate determine the
setting position. The setting of the plate must be carried out only
on particular occasions, as it is adjusted by the manufacturer
before the delivery.
To chose the most correct position of the blades according to the
type of fertilizer to be spread and the desired working width, make
reference to the tables at the end of the user’s guide.
7.6 CALIBRATION OF THE LOWER SHUTTERS:
The calibration of the spreader is carried out by the manufacturer
before the delivery.
Should some fertilizer flow out of the lower shutters even though
the flow control lever is in its closing position, take off the pin from
the tie-rod (Fig. 19), remove the tie-rod and turn it till the opening
are completely closed by the shutter. Make sure the calibration of
the two shutters is carried out in the same way.
8.0 MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
All maintenance operations must be carried out exclusively by
skilled personnel, in compliance with the instructions contained
in this user’s guide.
Before carrying any maintenance or cleaning operation, it is
necessary to turn off the tractor, remove the ignition key, apply
the hand brake, disengage the P.T.O. and release the spreader.
Make sure the working area is clean, use adequate tools and
follow the safety instructions as indicated in this manual.
8.0.1 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Before using the spreader, make sure there are no foreign bodies
inside the hopper.
After using the spreader, wash it and dry it with compressed air.
8.0.2 SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE
Every 10 hours:
- Grease the cardan spiders and driving chain of the agitators.
Every 50 hours:
- Check screw tightness.
8.1 STORING OPERATIONS
After using the spreader, assemble the stands B (fig.20) by
inserting and screwing tight the pin A. Make sure the stands are
safely blocked to the spreader, then lay it down on the ground
and afterwards release it from the tractor.
• check the spreader carefully and, if necessary, replace the
damaged or worn-out components.
• tighten all bolts.
• grease the spreader carefully in order to avoid oxidation.
• cover the spreader and, if possible, store it in a dry shed. Make
sure the spreader is safely blocked to the stands so that to
prevent a sudden tipping .
• protect the hopper with the cover (if you own this accessory) so
that no foreign bodies (stones, leaves etc.) can block the
shutters.
It is in the user’s interest to find the spreader in good working
conditions at the beginning of a new season.
