5.1 MAINTENANCE PLAN - Summary table
INTERVAL
TYPE OF WORK
WHEN THE MACHINE lS NEW
- Lubricate all the transmission chains with mineral oil (SAE 80W/90).
- After the rst eight hours of work check that all the bolts are still tight.
- Check the tightness of the bolts on the seed coulters.
AT THE BIGINNING OF
THE SEEDING SEASON
- Grease all parts indicated by transfer nr. 11 (‘GRASE’) at page 47 of this lea et.
- Lubricate all the transmission chains with mineral oil (SAE 80W/90).
- Before every new season, change the gearbox oil with
SAE 10W
(2 Kg) as follows:
- oil drainage plug, (U, Fig. 63);
- oil lling plug, (V, Fig. 63).
- Make sure that the transmission rotates freely without any interferences.
EVERY 20/30 WORKING HOURS
- Check the tightness of the bolts on the seed coulters.
- Clean and lubricate the transmission chains, the gears and the chain tensioner.
- Check the tight of the transmission chains.
- Clean the distributor carefully and thoroughly.
EVERY 50 WORKING HOURS
- Make sure the toothed wheels are properly aligned and the transmission chains are tensioned
to prevent them from wearing out in little time or a failure affecting the transmission parts.
- Lubricate all the transmission chains with mineral oil (SAE 80W/90).
- Grease the row marker arm pin.
- Check the oil level in the gearbox and top up to level (T, Fig. 63) whenever necessary using
the same type of oil (
SAE 10W
)whenever possible.
- Check that all the bolts are still tight.
- Grease the screw on the central crank (Q, Fig. 28).
- Grease the coulter elements.
EVERY PERIODICALLY
- Check the pressure of the seed drill tyres (see «
3.1 Technical Data
»).
EVERY FIVE YEARS
- To replace all the tubes of the hydraulic systems.
SETTING ASIDE
At the end of the season, or if a long period of rest is for seen it is advisable:
1) Carefully empty all the seed from the hopper and distribution assÕy(see cap. 4.18).
2) Clean the equipment, the tank and the metering unit especially, with a large amount of water.
Then, dry it using jets of air. Clean the electrical components
only
with a dry cloth.
3) Carefully check worn or damaged parts and replace if necessary.
4) Check the state of wear of the transmission chains and toothed wheels. Replace damaged or
worn out parts, if required. Use solvent to clean the transmission chains, the toothed wheels
and the chain stretchers. Lubricate with mineral oil (SAE 80W/90) when dry.
5) Tighten all screws and bolts.
6) Apply protecting oil to all unpainted parts.
7) Protect the equipment with a (nylon) cover.
8) Then put it in a dry place, do not move it and where it is out of reach of un authorized people.
It is advisable to proceed with the following inspections before the machine is set at work again::
- Check the oil levels in the gearbox and transmission unit. Top up if necessary.
- Check the greasing points and add grease if required.
- Check all bolts and tighten them if necessary.
If these operations are done carefully, it will be to the total advantage of the user because when work is recommenced, he will nd the
equipment in perfect conditions
6.0 DEMOLITION AND DISPOSAL
This operation is to be carried out by the customer.
Before demolishing the machine, you are advised to carefully check its physical condition and ascertain whether there are any parts of
the structure that may be susceptible to structural collapse or breakage during demolition.
The customer should operate in compliance with the environment protection laws in force in his/her country.
CAUTION
The machine demolition operations should be carried out by skilled personnel only, equipped with suitable protective clothing
(safety footwear and gloves) and auxiliary tools and equipment. All the disassembly operations for demolition should be carried
out with the machine stopped and detached from the tractor.
Before demolishing the machine, you are advised to render harmless all the parts that may be a source of danger and therefore:
- scrap the structure using specialized rms,
- remove any electrical apparatus according to the laws in force,
- collect oils and greases separately, to be disposed of through specialized rms, in accordance with the regulations of the country in
which the machine was used.
When the machine is demolished the CE mark should be destroyed together with this manual..
Finally, we remind you that the manufacturer is always available for any and all necessary assistance and spares.
