To select a record option:
1. Highlight the ‘RECORD’ field and press

NOTE:
Turning the track recording off will also dis-
able the TracBack feature, since no data will be recorded
from which to build the TracBack route.
The track method (or criteria) determines how often
positions are stored in the track log. The default setting is
‘AUTO’. This setting uses a “resolution” method (or vari-
ance from your course over ground), gives you the most
efficient use of track memory and provides the most
accurate TracBack route. A ‘TIME INTERVAL’ option is
also available to record track log data based upon a user-
defined setting.
To change the method used to record points:
1. Highlight the ‘RECORD’ field and press
E
.
2. Select the desired method and press
E
.
3. If ‘TIME INTERVAL’ is selected: press
E
, enter a
value in hours, minutes and seconds and press
E
.
The rest of the track log setup page displays the
percentage of memory used to store the current track
log data and contains function fields used to clear the
track log memory and activate the TracBack feature.
To clear the track log:
1. Highlight ‘CLEAR LOG?’ and press
E
.
2. A warning page will appear, asking you to confirm your
actions. Highlight ‘Yes?’ and press
E
.
TracBack Function
The last option on the track setup page is the
TracBack function which lets you activate a TracBack
route using the track log. (See pages 31-32 for more
information.)
To activate a TracBack route:
1. Highlight ‘TRACBACK?’and press
E
.
The ‘METHOD’ setting
allows you to record track
log data based upon an
‘AUTO’ option or a time
interval. Use ‘AUTO’ for
best TracBack performance.
