Internet database download procedures.
(1)
Connect a computer to the Internet and direct a browser window to www.FlyGarmin.com.
(2)
At the "GARMIN Account Sign In" field found in the top right corner of the display, type in the
username and password.
(a)
For assistance with the username and password contact, Cessna Customer Service. For
contact information, refer to the Introduction.
(3)
When you are logged in do the steps that follow:
(a)
Select the aircraft tab and scroll down until the aircraft needing the update is found.
(b)
Click on the airplane name to show the aircraft details page.
(c)
An exclamation point (red) will show next to each out-of-date product.
(4)
Install the SD card into the computer card reader slot.
(5)
Select one of the expired database products and click the "install" button.
(6)
On the next screen that shows, in the "Batch Update" field, choose the "Install" option under
each of the out-of-date products.
(a)
Do not select install for the navigation data product.
(b)
Record the cycle numbers of each database that is to be installed.
(7)
Click on the "install" button found on the bottom of the page to show the 'Update Device' screen.
(8)
Make sure that the Garmin Communicator Plugin is installed and that the SD card has been
found by the computer.
(a)
If Plugin is not installed, install the Plugin using the prompts and/or use the "Find Devices"
button to find the SD card.
(9)
Select the "Begin Update" button and allow the databases to be downloaded and installed to the
SD card.
(10) After the first card is updated, click the "Return to Device" button.
(11) Do the steps again for the other SD cards and to load additional database updating.
D.
Upload Jeppessen Chartview procedures.
(1)
Install the first SD card into the computer and activate the Jeppessen Services program.
(a)
Enter in the username and password and select OK
(b)
For assistance with the username and password contact, Cessna Customer Service. For
contact information, refer to the Introduction.
(2)
Select the available Chartview file and select START.
(3)
Select the BROWSE button to navigate to the SD card.
(a)
Select the "GARMIN" SD card.
(4)
Select CONTINUE and wait for the flies to load to the card.
(5)
Do the steps again for the other SD cards.

Jeppessen NAV Data procedures.
(1)
Install a blank SD card (part number 9145503-2) in the computer SD card reader.
(a)
Open the Jeppessen Services program.
(b)
Enter in the username and password and select OK
(c)
For assistance with the username and password contact, Cessna Customer Service. For
contact information, refer to the Introduction.
(2)
Select the available Nav Data file and select START.
(3)
Select the BROWSE button to navigate to the SD card.
(a)
Select the "GARMIN" SD card.
(4)
Select CONTINUE and wait for the flies to load to the card.
(5)
Database download is complete.
F.
Upload procedures for the Garmin Databases and Jeppessen Chartview.
(1)
Make sure the BATTERY switch, found on the ELECTRICAL POWER switch panel, is in the
OFF position.
(2)
Put the database cards in the bottom slots of the GDU each card was removed from.
(3)
Put the Jeppessen Nav Data database card in the top slot of the MFD.
(4)
Put the BATTERY switch to the ON position.
(a)
A message on the GDU states show that a new database is available.
