Disconnecting a Bluetooth Device
You can temporarily disconnect a Bluetooth device without
deleting it from the paired devices list. The Bluetooth device can
connect to your Garmin device automatically in the future.

Select Settings > Bluetooth .

Select the device to disconnect.
Deleting a Paired Bluetooth Device
You can delete a paired Bluetooth device to prevent it from
automatically connecting to your Garmin device in the future.
Deleting a paired smartphone also deletes all synced
phonebook contacts and call history from your Garmin device.

Next to the Bluetooth device name, select > Forget .
Traffic
NOTICE
Garmin is not responsible for the accuracy or timeliness of the
traffic information.
Your device can provide information about traffic on the road
ahead or on your route. You can set your device to avoid traffic
when calculating routes, and to find a new route to your
destination if a large traffic delay occurs on your active route
( Traffic Settings , page 20 ). The traffic map allows you to
browse the map for traffic delays in your area.
To provide traffic information, your device must be receiving
traffic data.
• Product models ending with MT can receive traffic data from
an over-the-air broadcast signal using the built-in traffic
receiver and the included vehicle power cable ( Receiving
Traffic Data Using a Traffic Receiver , page 17 ).
• All product models can receive subscription-free traffic data
using the Garmin Drive app ( Receiving Traffic Data Using
Your Smartphone , page 17 ).
• All product models can receive traffic data using an over-the-
air traffic receiver cable accessory ( Receiving Traffic Data
Using a Traffic Receiver , page 17 ). Go to your product page
at garmin.com to find and purchase a compatible traffic
receiver cable accessory.

traffic coverage areas, go to garmin.com/traffic .
Receiving Traffic Data Using Your
Smartphone
Your device can receive subscription-free traffic data while
connected to a smartphone running the Garmin Drive app.
1 Connect your device to the Garmin Drive app ( Live Services,
Traffic, and Smartphone Features , page 15 ).

On your Garmin device, select Settings > Navigation >
Traffic , and verify the Traffic check box is selected.
Receiving Traffic Data Using a Traffic
Receiver
NOTICE
Heated (metallized) windshields could degrade the performance
of the traffic receiver.
A traffic receiver receives traffic data from an over-the-air
broadcast signal, where available. To receive over-the-air traffic
data, the device must be connected to vehicle power using a
traffic-compatible power cable. A traffic receiver is included with
some product models ( Traffic , page 17 ). If your product model
does not include a traffic receiver, you can go to your product
page at garmin.com to find and purchase a compatible traffic
receiver cable accessory.

Connect the device to vehicle power using the traffic
compatible power cable ( Mounting and Powering the Garmin
Device in Your Vehicle , page 1 ).
If your product model includes traffic data, the vehicle power
cable included with your device is traffic compatible. If you
purchased a traffic receiver cable as an accessory, you
should use the accessory cable to connect the device to
vehicle power.
When you are within a traffic coverage area, your device can
display traffic information and help you avoid traffic delays.
Enabling Traffic
You can enable or disable traffic data.

Select Settings > Navigation > Traffic .

Select the Traffic check box.
Voice Command
NOTE: Voice command is not available for all languages and
regions, and may not be available on all models.
NOTE: Voice Activated Navigation may not achieve desired
performance when in a noisy environment.
Voice command allows you to use your device by saying words
and commands. The voice command menu provides voice
prompts and a list of available commands.
Setting the Wakeup Phrase
The wakeup phrase is a word or phrase you can say to activate
voice command. The default wakeup phrase is OK Garmin.
TIP: You can reduce the chance of accidental voice command
activation by using a strong wakeup phrase.
1 Select > Voice Command > > Wake Up Phrase .
2 Enter a new wakeup phrase.
The device indicates the strength of the wakeup phrase as
you enter the phrase.
3 Select Done .
