MAINTENANCE
7.13 Storage
When storing your vehicle for longer periods of time, please perform the following
operations.
• Charge the batteries and check the fluid levels. Do this at least once a month.
If frequent charging is not posible, the charger is designed to be connected for
longer periods of time. The on-board charger has a maintenance charging algo-
rythme that keep the batteries healthy for a longer period of storage.
• Clean the tops of the batteries with a solution of baking soda and water. Use 1lb
of baking soda for 1 gallon of water (120g for 1 litre of water) to remove corro-
sion. Do not allow this solution to enter the battery cells.
• Turn the ignition key to the ‘OFF’ position.
• Remove key and store it in a safe place.
• Turn the Main power switch in the battery compartment to ‘OFF’.
• Remove the key from the towing key switch. This should only be present when
vehicle is being towed. Always store in a safe place.
• Clean the vehicle and apply a rust inhibitor on exposed locations.
• See chapter 3 for special precautions when storing batteries.
