Advice for using the pump:
Connection to the electric outlet: the pump may only be connected to an electric outlet
that is equipped with a fault circuit interrupter and a functioning earth facility. The pump
will commence operation by inserting the plug in the corresponding outlet.
Setting of the switch on/off point:
The switch on/off point of the floater switch can be set by adjusting the floater switch in
the floater switch bracket.
Please check the following points before operating it:
The floater switch must be adjusted in such a way that the switch-ON and the
•
switch-OFF heights can be reached easily and with little effort. Check this by placing
the pump in a container filled with water and carefully raising and lowering the
floater switch manually. You can see whether the pump switches itself on or off.
Also take note that the distance between the floater switch and the floater switch
•
bracket is not too small. If the distance is too small, then a fault-free functioning can
not be guaranteed.
When adjusting the floater switch, make sure that the floater switch doesn‘t touch
•
the ground before the pump switches itself off.
Attention!
Danger of pump running dry.
Protection against overload/thermal motor switch:
The submersible pump is equipped with a thermal motor switch. If the motor overheats,
the motor switch automatically switches off the pump. The cooling time is 25 minutes,
after which the pump automatically switches itself on again. If the motor switch is
switched on, it is absolutely necessary to find and eliminate the cause (see also “Finding
the cause of the problem”). The information provided here may not be seen as
instructions for “home-made” repairs, since the repair work requires specific specialised
knowledge. In case of faults, always contact customer service.
Service and care
Before any kind of maintenance work on the pump is carried out, the electric connection
must always be interrupted (remove the plug from the outlet) to make sure that the pump
is not put in operation. With the exception of the cases described below, the pump must
be sent to customer service if it needs to be repaired. Sand and other abrasive substances
cause premature wear and a reduction in the pump‘s output. Work on the electrical
components of the pump may only be carried out by customer service (this also applies
for the electric cable and the floater).
The submersible pumps require practically no maintenance. The bearings are self-
lubricating. An occasional cleaning of the filter base with clear water is sufficient, so
that additional maintenance work is not required. The frequency depends on the
environmental conditions. Only original spare parts may be used.
