Storage and maintenance after use
1. Perform all the general maintenance recommended in the
Maintenance Section of your Instruction Manual.
2. Clean the outside surfaces of the trimmer.
3. Drain the fuel from the fuel tank.
4. After the fuel is drained, start the engine.
5. Run the engine at idle until the unit stops. This will clear the carburettor of fuel.
6. Allow the engine to cool (approx. 5 minutes).
7. Using a spark plug wrench, remove the spark plug.
8. Pour 1 teaspoon of clean 2-stroke oil into the combustion chamber. Pull startercord
slowly several times to coat the internal components. Replace spark plug.
9. Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from any source of ignition such
as an oil burner, water heater, etc.
Removing a unit from storage
1. Remove spark plug.
2. Pull the starter cord briskly to clear excess oil from the
combustion chamber.
3. Clean and gap the spark plug or install a new spark plug
with the proper gap. (Fig 9)
4. Prepare the unit for operation.
5. Fill the fuel tank with the proper fuel / oil mixture. See Fuel and Lubrication Section.
