• Always remove oil and fuel from the housing. Never start the
appliance in closed rooms or buildings. Inhaling exhaust fumes can
be fatal.
• Exhaust systems can get very hot and remain so for some time after
the engine has stopped. This also applies when the engine is idling.
Touching it can lead to burns on the skin. Remember the fire hazard!
• To avoid static electric shock, do not wear rubber gloves or other
insulated gloves during operation.
• Do not place the unit on any surface other than a clean, hard area
while the engine is running. Foreign objects such as gravel, sand,
dust, grass, etc., can be picked up by the air intake and thrown out
through the outlet opening, causing damage to the unit or property
or serious injury to bystanders or the operator.
• Avoid dangerous environments. Do not work in rooms or places
where explosive gases or carbon monoxide may be generated.
• Do not work on unstable surfaces such as ladders, trees, steep
slopes, roofs, etc. Always ensure that you have a secure footing and
grip at all times.
• Do not insert any objects directly into the intake manifold. Always
hold the appliance in such a way that the discharged suction material
is not directed at people, animals, glass and solid objects such as
trees, cars, walls, etc. The air discharge pressure can whirl up stones,
dirt or sticks and thus injure people and animals, break glass or cause
other damage.
• Always operate the appliance only with the necessary equipment.
Always mount the blowpipes for use in blowing mode. For suction
operation, the suction pipes and the collection bag must be fitted.
Make sure that the collection bag is completely closed.
• Suction opening, blow or suction pipes as well as connecting pipe
must be checked regularly. The engine must be switched off and the
spark plug connector must be removed. Keep the venting devices
and air outlet pipes free of dirt to ensure proper air flow.
• Never insert objects into the suction opening. This could obstruct the
air flow and cause damage to the unit.
• Never use the unit to spray chemicals, fertilizers or other substances
that may contain toxic ingredients.
• To prevent fire from spreading, do not use the appliance near
burning branches or bushes, fireplaces, barbecues, ashtrays, etc.
• Use the appliance only for the operations described in this manual.
