Colour within one segment "differs", "runs late", or "fails intermediately"
- one (or more) colours within the LED is broken
a RGB colour LED is made of the 3 primary colours;
R
ed
G
reen an
B
lue
and can produce any colour by blending these primary colours. For instance:
100%R =
red
, 100%G =
green
, 100%B =
blue
,
75%R+25%G =
orange
, 75%G+25%B =
iceblue
, 50%B+50%R =
purple
,
50%R+50%G =
yellow
, 50%G+50%B =
cyan
, 75%B+25%R =
pink
, etc.
If one of the primary colours fails, and therefore doesn't blend, it "appears" as if the clour "sticks", or "runs late"
(because all LED's within a segment are connected in series, they will all show the same deviation,
although this doesn't mean they are all broken)
> interchange drawers (or LED's) to determine which LED's are malfunctioning and replace if necessary
- bad connection connector
> check connections behind machinefront, inside trafobox, behind sidepost and on the LED
(Connectors may have come loose during transport)
- defect driver output
> plug connector of "malfunctioning segment" in different driver ports
- cablecut
> when all of the above hasn't solved the problem: replace (part of) cable harness
Colour within one segment "differs"
- one (or more) colour within the LED is broken
(but still closes the power circuit)
> interchange drawers (or LED's) to determine which LED's are malfunctioning and replace if necessary
- short circuit in a cable harness
(possible cut by screw)
> replace cable harness

Cable transit possibility for service
In production, the powercables for the LED's are integrated in the plastic frame and completely build in.
When the cable needs to be replaced, the frame needs to be removed.
If this is too much trouble, there is an
alternative ready-to-use cable transit (see section view)
Drill a 12mm hole (big enough for RJ12 "telephone"-connector) between the hinge screw holes and
through the pre-punched hole behind the sidepost.
