POWER ON
The POWER status light indicates that the COBE 2991’s power is on. The power
switch is located in the upper right-hand corner of the front panel.
TUBE LOAD
When you press the TUBE LOAD button, Tube Load mode is activated.
Tube Load mode permits loading of the cell processing set tubing. To open a valve
use the VALVE SELECTOR control to select the valve you want to open. See
“VALVE SELECTOR” on page 3-3.
On COBE 2991s with five valves, set the VALVE SELECTOR to valve 1 (V1) and
open either the collect valve or SOV, using the COLLECT/SOV button (or
switch).
STOP RESET
When you press the STOP RESET button, the COBE 2991 either stops or resets.
Press the STOP RESET button to exit Tube Load mode after loading the cell
processing set. This closes the valves that were opened when the set was loaded.
Press the STOP RESET button at any time to halt the operation of the COBE
2991. If the STOP RESET button is pressed during processing in the Automatic
mode, the COBE 2991 stops and resets to cycle 1 of the currently-selected
program.
At the end of processing in the Automatic mode, the STOP RESET light
illuminates and the audible alarm sounds (if turned on). Press the STOP RESET
button to turn off the STOP RESET light, silence the alarm, and reset the COBE
2991 for the next procedure.
HOLD
When you press the HOLD button, the COBE 2991 suspends the operation
currently in progress. The HOLD button is only active during the Start/Spin,
Supernatant-Out, and Agitate/Wash-In operations. It allows you to suspend an
operation and make changes or observations. To resume the operation, press the
CONTINUE button.
Note:
To see the
total time the COBE
2991 has been in the
current Start/Spin operation,
including the time spent in the
Hold status, press the ELAPSED
TIME button on the LED
program board.
A Hold status can be programmed to occur automatically. To program a Hold:
• For LED program board versions, see “STOP SELECT” on page 4-4 and
“Programming a Hold” on page 4-5.
• For pin-diode program board versions, see “CK (Check Light)” on page 5-3
and “Programming a Hold” on page 5-5.
During a Start/Spin operation, in the Automatic mode, pressing the HOLD button
suspends the programmed spin time. The centrifuge continues to spin, and the
START SPIN and HOLD lights both illuminate. To resume the Start/Spin
