5 with no stop, the cycle seven indicator remains illuminated, and the COBE
2991repeats the seventh cycle and stops after the Agitate/Wash-In operation of the
eighth cycle.
CK (Check Light)
The CK (check) light is located below the cycle indicators. During any cycle, the
CK light illuminates and the COBE 2991 goes into a Hold status when one or
more of the following conditions exists:
• Malfunctioning pin
• Pin not inserted properly
• STOP PC and STOP RC both selected
• No timer programmed
• Both timers programmed
• No valve programmed
• More than one valve programmed
The above conditions may be the result of programming errors, or can be
intentionally programmed to place the COBE 2991 in a Hold status. See
“Programming a Hold” on page 5-5.
If a check condition occurs, the audible alarm sounds (if turned on).
To continue from a check condition, insert or remove a pin as required, and then
press the CONTINUE button.
Spin Timers
Two spin timers are used to control the duration of the spin operation for each
cycle. The time range is zero to five minutes for 60 Hz machines, and zero to six
minutes for 50 Hz machines. The timers should be set to 15 seconds or longer. The
READY light does not turn on if the timers are set to less than 15 seconds.
At the end of each Start/Spin operation, the timer resets automatically to the preset
time and is ready for the next cycle.
If no timers or multiple timers are programmed, the COBE 2991 goes into a Hold
status at the beginning of the Start/Spin operation. See “Programming a Hold
Status at the Beginning of the Start/Spin Operation” on page 5-5.
Caution:
For COBE 2991s with pin-diode program boards, do not adjust the
spin timers during a spin operation or they could be damaged. Instead, do the
following:
• For longer spin times, press HOLD. Then, when you wish to resume the program, press
CONTINUE.
• For shorter spin times, press SUPER OUT to move ahead to the Supernatant-Out
operation.
