1. Operation and control
Read and understand this Operating Manual. Operating this unit against the Operating Manual may void your warranty and cause irreversible damage.
Have the unit installed by an installer qualified by authorized training provided by the manufacturer.
The unit is not intended to be operated by anyone with impaired mental, physical and/or sensory capabilities (including children) or anyone without a good
understanding or experience in operation of the unit, unless supervised or instructed by a competent adult responsible for their safety.
The unit shall be installed in accordance with good construction services practices and the applicable laws and standards of your country. The unit is intended
for indoor installation only.
The Small heat pump is an auxiliary heat source for DHW production. In periods of increased DHW demand, the user's system must be capable of producing
DHW with a primary heat source (i.e. a central heating boiler, an electric heater, etc.). The recommended DHW tank capacity is between 100 and 250 litres
to achieve the optimum DHW production time.
The Small is an air/water heat pump for DHW (domestic hot water) production for a family of 6 maximum (with the nominal DHW consumption at 50 l/
person/day and without simultaneous consumption from more than one hot water tap). The maximum temperature of DHW that the heat pump can output
is 55°C. However, for the energy efficient operation of the heat pump, it is recommended not to set the DHW temperature above 45°C, as this will increase
the power costs of operating the heat pump and cause a faster wear and tear of the heat pump unit components.
DHW temperatures above 50°C are a risk of severe burn. Be careful to avoid the risk of burns in children, people with mental and/or physical
disabilities, and the elderly.
1.1. Unit description
The Small heat pump is connected to the DHW tank in the existing DHW system. The Small heat pump is a single heat generator, which can optionally be
expanded with an electric heater to accumulate heat in the DHW tank and produce DHW at a specific temperature. The heat pump uses the heat from the
ambient indoor air to the DHW tank contents. The heat pump can also be connected to ventilation air ducts with a minimum diameter of 160 mm. During
its operation, the heat pump removes the humidity from the ambient indoor air. It is then normal that the humidity is condensed in the heat pump. The
condensate drain pipe is below the heat pump unit and its outlet must open directly to a floor drain.
1.2. Proper operation
The heat pump collects the heat from the ambient air in the room it is installed in (or from the air of a room to which the heat pump is connected with
ventilation ducts) and transfers it to the DHW.
1.3. Incorrect operation
DO NOT:
1. Operate with air which contains fat or grease vapour;
2. Use the unit for purposes other than DHW (domestic hot water);
3. Install the unit outdoor, in indoor rooms where freezing temperatures may occur, in indoor air with high airborne dust concentration and/or flammable
gas and/or flammable vapour;
4. Operate the unit below +7°C.
