Automatic Release Mode
When the Sheep Handler is operating in Automatic Release Mode the RED LED lamp on the
front of the control box will be off .
Following are some ways you can use the Sheep Handler while in Automatic Release Mode:
• Weighing animals and releasing.
• Weighing animals and drafting using weight conditions specified in your weigh scale
indicator (draft by weight).
• Reading EID tags, drafting and/or weighing using conditions specified in your weigh scale
indicator (draft by list or rules).
Note: For instructions on how to set up and use your scale and/or RFID reader you will
need to refer to the appropriate user manual.
To weigh and release animals
Set up the weigh scale indicator so it is ready to weigh animals automatically. The RED LED
will be off indicating that you are in Automatic Release Mode and the Amber
communication light will be flashing.
The ramp clamp and main clamp will be open. The first animal will pass through the ramp
clamp and be captured by the main clamp. When the animal has been successfully weighed
the weigh scale indicator will beep, the main clamp will release and the animal will be
released.
