Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting the ILD1000A Basic Local Desk Set
The following is a list of potential problems you may encounter and possible solutions.
Problem Possible
Solution
The desk set will not key
the station transmitter.
Check cable wiring to radio and desk set terminals
Ensure that the collector-emitter junction of Q12 is not open.
The radio is keyed
constantly while the desk
set is connected.
Collector-emitter junction of Q12 or D19 is shorted.
RX audio is low or
distorted.
Either the RX level pot or SWA-8 for RX audio level is set incorrectly.
See “Line (Receive Audio) Input Level Adjustment” section of this
manual.
Ensure that the audio from the station receiver is not distorted.
Ensure that the audio level from the station receiver is less than 4 V
RMS
but
greater than 200 mV
RMS
.
There is continuous hum in
the TX or RX audio.
Ensure that the audio return is not grounded at one of the desk sets and is
connected to the radio base station.
The SWA switches on the main circuit board are not set properly. Refer to
the “SWA Switch Setting” table on page 6 in the “Description” section of
this manual.
