CUTTING DOWN A TREE
1. Determine the direction of fall of the tree
before starting work, taking into account the
direction of the wind, the inclination of the
tree, the position of the thick branches, the
ease of subsequent work and other factors
2. Clear the working area around the tree,
ensuring a firm foothold and an escape route
3. Notch the log by about one third of its
diameter on the fall direction side.
4. Make the felling cut from the side opposite
the notch cut, the latter must lie slightly
higher.
CAUTION
Before felling a tree, warn all
persons in the vicinity in good time.

ATTENTION
1. Always make sure that you have a firm
stand. Never stand on the log itself.
2. Make sure that pieces cut to length do not
