CHAIN BRAKE
This device is equipped with an automatic
brake. If a kickback occurs during sawing, the
brake is automatically released by the inertia
acting on the weight inside the front hand
guard and stops the rotation of the saw chain.
This brake can also be operated manually by
manually tilting the front hand guard to the
side of the guide bar. To release the brake,
the front hand guard must be raised to the
side of the front handle until it stops. Before
starting up, it is essential to check the braking
effect.
(1) Front handle (2) Released (3) Braking (4)
Brake lever

Review procedures:
1. switch off the engine
2. hold the chainsaw horizontally with both
hands, take your hand away from the front
handle and strike the tip of the guide bar
against a tree stump to check the braking
effect. The actuation height varies according
to the size of the guide bar.
If the brake does not work properly, ask your
dealer to check and repair it. If the engine
turns at high speed when the brake is applied,
the clutch will heat up and this may cause a
malfunction. If the brake is released during
operation, immediately release the throttle
and stop the engine.
