Hardware options
Hand start plunger required for test track phase
Number of SMARTSTARTs
One required per lane, for up to 8 lanes. Additional one at start line if
required as Start Gun
SCAN Page Selection
L-MAT for the gates to be sued as RFID readers; SMARTSTART for the
unit used at the starting line as a start gun only.
Test Track Action
Push hand start plunger during test track as second gate in each lane
for the RFID stations. Not applicable for the start unit

Choose SMARTSTART start type if using a unit at the start line as a
start gun.

SCENARIO 3: COMBINATION START GUN/RFID READER (PDA DRIVEN START MODE
ONLY)
In this scenario, SMARTSTART can be used as both the start gun and a wireless RFID reader, in either single or
multiple lane modes. In multiple lane mode, one SMARTSTART is required for each lane, to perform the RFID
reading function. NOTE – this mode doe4s not support a manual race start using the hand start plunger.

track. Press “Buzzer” button to identify unit, and
place it at the start of the correct track

Choose Light/Buzzer Traffic Light start type if you
wish the SMARTSTARTS to make a loud sound on
start.

of screen
