5.4 FM-8500
Refer to the
Installation Manual, FM-8500
5.4.1 General
This setup must be performed on both FM-8500’s.
1) Power up the unit.
2) Press the
[1] (Position)
key. The Longitude/Latitude and UTC time should
be displayed. This NMEA information is supplied by the Felcom 15. If it is
not displayed check the NMEA cables and connections.

5.4.2 MMSI Setting
1) Press the
[SELECT]
key, the
Setup menu
appears.
2) Press the
[9]
key, the
System menu
appears.
3) Using the arrow keys, select
ID
and press the
[ENT]
key.
4) Enter the vessel’s MMSI number and the
[ENT]
key to accept.
5.4.3 DSC Settings
1) Using the arrow keys, select
DSC
and press the
[ENT]
key.
2) Press the
[1]
key to select
CH70,
then press the
[ENT]
key.
When setting up VHF 2, select VHF instead of CH70.
