To erase an EBL,
press and hold down corresponding EBL key until the EBL
disappears.
Tips for measuring bearing
•
Bearing measurements of smaller targets are more accurate; the center of
larger target pips is not as easily identified.
•
Bearings of stationary or slower moving targets are more accurate than
bearings of faster moving targets.
•
To minimize bearing errors keep echoes in the outer half of the picture by
changing the range scale; angular difference becomes difficult to resolve as a
target approaches the center of the display.

Displaying true or relative bearing
The bearing readout for the EBL can be referenced to ship’s heading (relative) or
North (true) with “11. EBL Ref” on the OTHERS menu. “R” for Relative, or “T” or
“M” for True appears to the right of the bearing readout according to bearing
source. True bearing requires heading data.
Note:
The bearing indication is selected from the installation menu to Magnetic
(magnetic bearing) or Gyro (true bearing). This gives the following choices
of bearing references:
