The camera can be damaged or put out of commission completely if it is

the camera is on or off

The camera housing warms up considerably in comparison with the environment when in
operation.
Always ensure that a lens or protective dust cap is fitted so that no dust particles can enter the
camera, which will later become visible in the picture when the camera is started up.
Startup
Before you start up the FAC 940, you must first mount the selected lens and install the cabling
in accordance with the requirements at the place of installation.

All the terminals and configuration elements are located at the rear of the camera housing (1).
