Safety information
Safety information is to assist you in identifying hazards and in avoiding
negative consequences for your health and your well-being.
To ensure the intended use as well as safety, reliability and performance
of the DECT™ base stations and their components, please read the docu-
mentation and safety information regarding the individual components
before initial commissioning:
• The present documentation covering the base stations of the types
DECT™ Base-Stations FB4 IP (TP ⁄ FX) including their variants.
• The operating instructions for other DECT™ system components.
General information
• Depending on the DECT™ Base-Stations FB4 IP (TP ⁄ FX) variant used
and the local installation, power supply of the base station is either by
means of a system-compatible plug-in power supply unit or from the
data network, using "Power over Ethernet“.
• Depending on the conditions of use and the local requirements, the
DECT™ base stations use their integrated antennas or external
antennas in diversity mode.
• The base stations of the DECT™ Base-Stations FB4 IP (TP ⁄ FX) type
including the plug-in power supply units are designed for operation in
an office-like environment.
• Protect the base stations including the plug-in power supply units
against heavy dirt, dust, moisture and wetness and against direct heat
radiation.
• The base stations of the DECT™ Base-Stations FB4 IP (TP ⁄ FX) type
including their plug-in power supply units may be installed and oper-
ated only outside of explosion-hazardous areas.
• Operating the plug-in power supply units with the DECT™ base stations
requires a socket outlet properly installed by specialist personnel
directly near the respective place of installation.
The use of several multiple socket outlets connected in series in order
to cover a larger distance between a fixed socket outlet and the plug-
in power supply units of the DECT™ base stations is not allowed!
• The specifications provided on the power supply unit (e.g. 100 V to
240 V, 50 Hz to 60 Hz) must match those of the available power supply.
• The plug-in power supply units and socket outlets must be accessible at
any time.
