This device is an Ex II device especially designed for use in rough industrial environments. Please note
the following warnings and security information.
1.
The device may only be connected to and operated at the voltage it was designed for. The
required operating voltage for the device can be found on the nameplate. Make sure the
connections are in perfect order.
2.
The device may be operated solely under the stated ambient conditions. For instance, too high
or too low ambient temperatures are not allowed.
3.
Make sure the device, the connecting cable, etc. are not damaged. If the device is damaged, it
may not be operated.
4.
Only a trained technician may connect the device and put it into operation.
5.
While the device is in operation please follow all relevant legal and professional regulations, the
legally required precautions to be taken to prevent accidents, and laws and regulations governing
the use and connection of electric devices.
6.
In case of repairs, use only original spare parts, which must be changed by someone with pro-
fessional skills. Other spare parts may cause damage.
7.
Before the device is repaired or replaced, it must be disconnected from the power supply. If the
maintenance or repair of a live device cannot be avoided, this must be done by authorised
personnel only.
8.
Take into consideration the required operating position.
9.
Replacing or amending modules must be carried out by a trained technician only. Use only
modules that are certified for installation in this device.
10.
The signal cable must be suited for the operating ambient temperature.
11.
Cable glands, blind plugs and plugs must have the IP 66 degree of protection, according to
EN 60529. Furthermore, the above-mentioned parts must comply with the Ex e II class of
protection and be especially certified by a recognized European test agency.
In case of non-compliance with permissible temperatures, a mechanically protected attach-
ment is to be allowed for to provide protection, e.g. from falling objects.

WARNING! Only clean device with a damp cloth!
The device may not be operated in the vicinity of strong charge generating processes, in
particular in the presence of charged particles (e.g. electrons from high voltage electrodes,
surging powder particles or liquids)!
