Property and Data Protection
6.1
Mechanical Access Protection
The floorstand model is protected against unauthorized opening by a lock. Apart
from the lock, the server is also fitted with an intrusion detection switch which
enables the
ServerView
program to detect and log any removal of the left cover
or housing cover and the cover for the HDD modules.
To prevent it being removed from its location, the floorstand model can be
secured to a fixed object with a steel cable running through a clip on the back.
The rack model is protected against unauthorised access by means of a
lockable rack door.
6.2
BIOS Setup Security Functions
The
Security
menu in the
BIOS Setup
provides you with various options for
protecting your data from unauthorized access. It allows you to assign access
passwords, or to prevent disks from being written or the BIOS from being
overwritten. By combining these options you can achieve optimum protection for
your system.
