Connecting and disconnecting cables

The power plug must be pulled out.
Never connect or disconnect cables during thunderstorms.
When disconnecting a cable, always take hold of the plug. Never pull on
the cable.
Connect or disconnect cables in the sequence shown below.
Connecting cables
All affected devices must be switched off.
All affected devices must be unplugged from the power supply.
Mark the cables, and make a note of the function of each cable. Above all,
observe the safety notes in chapter “Important notes” on page 7.
Plug all power cables into the correctly fused and grounded power outlets.
Make sure that the power cables of the devices in the rack are plugged in so
that there is an even distribution of power in the three phases (L1, L2, L3)
(for more information see the rack manual).
If the devices have an articulated cable guide, secure the cables to the artic-
ulated cable guide with the cable ties.
Disconnecting cables
Switch off all affected devices.
Unplug all affected devices from the power supply
Disconnect all cables on the server and the storage subsystem.
