Unpacking the storage subsystem

V

Please take note of the safety information in the chapter “Important
notes” on page 7.

Ask somebody for help with carrying the subsystem

It is recommended that you do not throw away the original packaging material!
It may be required for transport at a later date.

Ê

Unpack all the individual parts.

Ê

Check the delivery for damage incurred during transport.

Ê

Check whether the delivery matches the details on the delivery note.

Ê

Check whether all necessary details have been entered on the first page of
the guarantee coupon booklet.

Should you discover that the delivery does not match the delivery note, notify
your supplier immediately.

3.3

Mounting the subsystem in the rack

V

The rack may tip over if more than one heavy unit is removed.

To mount the subsystem in the DataCenter Rack, a support bracket must first
be mounted on the rear left support upright. The support bracket must be
mounted level with the lower edge of the server. Cage nuts and/or spring nuts
must also be inserted in the support uprights. The support bracket is used for
the fixing the left carrier rail at the back, the cage nuts are used for fixing the
support bracket and the front panel, and the spring nuts for fixing the carrier
rails.

Ê

Refer to the mounting instructions in the Technical Manual for the corre-
sponding rack for help.

Ê

Mark the position of the attachment points of the subsystem on the support
uprights (three height units). Refer to the layout diagram on the order lists
created with the Rack Architect program for help.

Ê

Mount the support bracket (DataCentar Rack) using two screws and cage
nuts on the corresponding height on the rear left support upright.
