Hot-plug PCI Boards

CAUTION!
The actions described in these instructions should only be
performed by technical specialists. Equipment repairs should only
be performed by authorized, qualified staff. Any unauthorized
openings and improper repairs could expose the user to risks
(electric shock, energy hazards, fire hazards) and could also
damage the equipment.
Please observe the safety information in chapter “Important Notes”
on page 15.

CAUTION
Each PCI slot of the PRIMERGY RX600 S2 server must be occupied by
either a PCI board or a dummy module, which is a supporting plate
attached to a pull-out aid.
The following operations are possible while the system is running:
–
Replacing PCI boards (see “Removing Hot-plug PCI Boards” on page 86
and “Inserting a Hot-plug PCI Board” on page 92)

Only PCI boards of the same type and with the same settings may be
exchanged. If the boards do not match, the new board will not be
commissioned.

Adding PCI boards (see “Removing the Dummy Module” on page 90 and
“Inserting a Hot-plug PCI Board” on page 92)
