Unable to capture fingerprint.
Place finger on sensor correctly
•
Verify that you are placing your finger in the correct
position. Refer to "APPENDIX Using User Authentica-
tion by Fingerprint" (page 1)
•
During fingerprint registration, do not remove your fin-
ger until the beep sounds.
Capturing failure
Your finger is wet.
Please wipe finger and sensor.
Your fingerprint cannot be captured as your finger is wet.
Clean your registered finger. Also, moisten a cloth with
Cleaner F1 and wipe the sensor’s surface lightly.
User is not registered.
Place the finger that is registered on the sensor.
(This message disappears after 3 seconds and the device
returns to logout status)
Invalid ID number
Check your ID number, and enter the correct ID number.
The PIN is incorrect
Check your PIN, and enter the correct PIN.
The New PIN entries do not
match
Check whether the PIN is incorrect.
This fingerprint is not registered.
Do the following:
•
Change your finger position on the fingerprint sensor.
•
Check with the PIN whether you are a registered user.
•
Check whether it is a different finger that has been
registered.
•
Register your finger again.
Unable to register fingerprint.
Please register again.
Refer to "APPENDIX Using User Authentication by Fin-
gerprint" (page 1) and register your fingerprint again.
Unable to register this finger.
Register different finger.
The finger may not be in optimal condition (extremely dry
skin, wounded, etc.) for registration. Register another fin-
ger.
Failed to save fingerprint data
Register your fingerprint again. If the problem persists,
turn off and on the power, and configure the fingerprint
settings again.
Invalid IP address
Check whether the IP address entered is incorrect.
Invalid subnet mask
Check whether the subnet mask entered is incorrect.
Invalid gateway address
Check whether the gateway address entered is incorrect.
Invalid DNS server address
Check whether the DNS entered is incorrect.
Host connection failure due to
time-out
Check the following:
•
fi-5000N is connected via network to the PC specified
by the logged-in user.
•
The PC specified by the logged-in user is running.
•
fi-5000N Software is installed on the PC specified by
the logged-in user.
•
The trigger port settings for fi-5000N and the settings
for the PC specified by the logged-in user are identical.
