5.2 Operating the CD-ROM drive

Please also observe the instructions later in this section for handling CDs.

Controls

Status indicator

The status indicator (3) flashes when a CD is being inserted. It goes dark when the drive is
ready to read.

If the status indicator does not go dark after a CD has been inserted but continues
to flash, the CD may well be damaged or dirty.

The status indicator is permanently lit when the CD-ROM drive is being accessed.
