Connecting external devices

CD/DVD ROM

Using the serial port

Ê 

Switch off the notebook.

Ê 

Connect the printer data cable to the serial port on the back of the notebook.

Ê 

Plug the power cable of the printer into the mains outlet.

Ê 

First switch on the printer, then the notebook.

CD/DVD ROM

Please refer to the instructions shipped with your CD/DVD ROM for guidance on installation and
use.

Floppy disks

Follow the instructions supplied by the vendor of the floppy disks.

To insert a diskette:

Ê 

Hold the diskette with the label facing up, and the arrow pointing towards the diskette drive.

Ê 

Slide the diskette into the drive until it clicks into place.
