Countermeasure Against Dirty Prints Caused by Paper Powder or Toner
Paper powder or toner may cause prints to become dirty even in normal conditions.
In such a case, use the following procedure to clean the printer.
1.
Open the front cover. Clean the four
locations as indicated in the photo at the
right.
Note
• When the front cover needs to be left open for five
minutes or longer for cleaning the inside of the printer,
remove all toner cartridges and cover the drum to
avoid exposure to the light.
Note
• For cleaning off dirt, use a clean, dry and non-fluffy
cloth.
2.
Clean the duplex unit.
[1] Lift the green knobs on both sides of
the belt unit and then open the unit
fully.
[2] Clean the paper paths inside the belt
unit.
3.
Clean the duplex gate.
Open the duplex gate and clean the ribbed
surface on the back.
Important
• The fuser is hot. Do not touch it as doing so may
cause burns.
