General remarks
The TP 1500 RC HD power source may only be small, but it is built to function
dependably under even the toughest operating conditions. Features such as its powder-
coated sheet-steel housing, the way its controls are protected by a plastic frame, and its
bayonet-latching connection sockets all testify to the high quality of its design. Thanks to
its carrying strap, the machine is easy to move around - both in the workshop and out in
the field.
Utilisation
The TP 1500 RC HD is designed for pre-heating the welding wires to be used in TIG
hot-wire welding. The accessories offered for this purpose are optimally “fine-tuned” to
work with the TP 1500 RC HD power source. Irrespective of what output current is
selected, the output voltage is kept constant at 10 V DC. This means that there is a
direct connection between the output current that is selected, and the desired heating
power.
In addition to the facility for selecting the output current by means of an adjusting dial,
the TP 1500 RC HD also comes with a series connection socket. This connection
socket can be used for selecting the output current by way of an external analogue
signal. Because there is also a facility for switching the output current off and on by -
respectively - overshooting and undershooting a specified voltage level, a second
analogue signal is not needed for controlling the power source.
