10 Updating: Update FRITZ!OS
AVM provides regular free FRITZ!OS updates for your
FRITZ!WLAN Repeater. FRITZ!OS is the operating system of the
FRITZ!WLAN Repeater and controls all functions and settings of the
FRITZ!WLAN Repeater. FRITZ!OS updates provide for maximum securi-
ty in your home network, contain further developments of existing
FRITZ!WLAN Repeater functions and often also introduce new features
for the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.
10.1 Updating FRITZ!WLAN Repeater Automatically
With the “Automatic Update” feature you have the option of
installing updates automatically whenever a new FRITZ!OS
version becomes available. For the “Automatic Update” func-
tion you can select among various methods:

Updates which AVM regards as necessary
for continued secure and reliable opera-
tion (for instance, security updates) will
be installed automatically.
The FRITZ!WLAN Repeater selects a suit-
able time for the update, generally at
night.
During installation the Internet connec-
tion is briefly interrupted.
