1.0 ATTENTION
Before using your
Frilass
welding unit, first read this manual thoroughly, so that
accidents can be prevented.
1.1 INTRODUCTION
This instruction manual contains the information you need to prepare your arc
welding set for welding. In addition it contains trouble shooting instruction. The
instructions are not intended to show you how to be an expert welder if you have
had no 'previous experience'. Therefore, it is essential that you read very carefully
the following to get the best results and performance from your set.
It must be stressed that only with continued practice will you achieve the desired
results, arc welding is easy but demands a steady hand and time spent with scrap
metal will be rewarded with first class results on the job.
The appliance must be used only for the purpose for which it was specifically
designed. All other uses are to be considered incorrect and therefore
unreasonable. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage
resulting from improper, incorrect or unreasonable use.
2.0 WELDING SAFETY RULES
Before commencing work:
1.
Ensure that you have a welding face mask with the appropriate shade lens
always ready
. You must always use this as permanent eye damage can result
if you do not use appropriate protection. Check you have good ventilation and
that air can flow freely around the transformer.
2.
Ensure there are no flammable or combustible materials near the work area.
3.
Ensure the power supply switch on the machine is set to the correct voltage. A
protection device is fitted to prevent 400 volts being used on the 230 volt circuit.
If you use 230 volt, first remove switch knob and reposition protection plate
(model E 205 - E 260).
4.
Do not open the cover of the machine. Always switch off and remove plug from
