3.2 Exhaust air
The UVC system must be assembled and started up according to the installation instructions.
Regarding the exhaust air values, see the installation instructions.
4. Instructions for use:
4.1 Operating information
Obligatory instructions: The operation of kitchens and kitchen exhaust air equipment must only
be performed with aerosol filters of the Franke SKKG, SKKF, SKKB filter type inserted in the
universal hood.
The UVC system must be switched off before the filters are removed from the hood.
Never look at the UVC light.
If the buzzer sounds, there is a warning notice. The warning notice may be displayed by
pressing the "F4" key.
If the display is backlit in green, no warning notice exists.
If the display is backlit in red, a warning notice exists. The warning notice may be displayed by
pressing the "F4" key.
If it is determined that one of the protective tubes or UVC lamps has broken, the
equipment must be switched off immediately.
The glass splinters must be removed completely from the splinter surface they have
impinged upon. In this case, it is also obligatory to clean the lower mesh filter of the UVC
system, as well as the aerosol filters of the UH hood to prevent possible contamination of
the food product.
The bulbs in the UVC system contain small amounts of mercury, similar to a fluorescent light
bulb.
They are housed inside a glass tube. In the event that the glass tube and bulb are broken
the following procedure should be followed.
Turn off the UVC System and the equipment under the UVC System Hood. Move the
equipment out to an area where it can be cleaned after cooling down. The oil in a fryer must
be disposed of as either glass or mercury may have landed in the fry pot.
Call an authorized Service Technician to remove the broken bulb(s) and replace them.
Clean all surfaces as described in the attached 'Mercury Spillage Kit-how it works" taking
great care with the broken glass.
