HUMAN-MACHINE INTERACTION:

 

Any  situation  in  which  an  operator  interacts  with  the  machine  in  any  of 
the operational phases at any time of the life of the machine itself; 

 

OPERATOR’S QUALIFICATION:

 

Minimum  level  of  competence  that  an  operator  must  have  in  order  to 
perform the described operation; 

 

NUMBER OF OPERATORS:

 

The  appropriate  number  of  operators  needed  to  optimally  perform  the 
described  operation,  resulting    from  an  accurate  analysis  made  by  the 
manufacture,  and  for  which  the  use  of  a  different  number  of  operators 
may  prevent  the  occurrence  of  the  expected  result  or  endanger  the 
safety of the personnel involved; 

 

STATE OF THE MACHINE:

 

The  state  of  the  machine  includes  the  operating  mode,  for  example: 
running in automatic mode, hold-to-run 

control (jog), shutdown, etc… the 

safety conditions on the machine, such as included protectors, excluded 
protectors, emergency shutdown, isolation from energy sources, etc… 

 

RESIDUAL RISK:

 

Risks  that  remain,  despite  the  inherent  safe  design  measures, 
safeguarding and complementary protective measures adopted. 

 

SAFETY COMPONENT: 

 

Component:

 

- designed to fulfill a safety function;
