BAUD RATE 485 -
Read-only parameters, it indicates the transmission speed of 485 BUS between
the Control Unit and the receiver cards.
BAUD RATE 232 -
This parameter establishes the transmission speed of the port RJ45 in serial mode
3. The user must set this when connecting the headend to an additional device such as a PC, laptop
etc.
TIME OUT COM -
The headend programming unit periodically checks the installed modules. TIME
OUT COM sets the time the programming unit waits to receive a reply from the modules. If a module
does not reply within the allocated time it is considered to be out of order or missing. This parameter
does not affect the operation of the headend, but will affect the ignition and reset speed. It is recom-
mended that this parameter is not changed.
AUTOSCAN -
If AUTOSCAN is ON the headend cyclically checks the modules. The period of time
between checks is defined as FREQ. POLLING. If AUTOSCAN is OFF the headend does not check
the modules.
FREQ. POLLING -
Defines the period of time between check cycles (only if AUTOSCAN is ON).
MODULE SEARCH -
The programming unit searches the installed modules and lists the channels
found on the backlit display.
CHANNEL COPY -
Allows the settings to be copied from one module to another. The user must insert
the channel to be copied and the channel on which to copy the settings. Only the input settings will be
copied (frequency, LNB power, the channel to receive etc.). The output settings will not be copied (RF
output channel, output level etc).
RESET -
Module hardware reset of the modules. One module can be selected or all modules to-
gether.
PRESET -
The 6 headend channels can be set using the preset channel parameters stored in the
programming unit. A preset channel can be linked to one of the headend and to do this the user must
choose the receiver to be programmed, select INPUT, select the required preset channel followed by
the option “Load“. The receiver is then programmed using the stored parameters. The preset chan-
nel parameters can be changed (except the DEFAULT channel parameters). The user must program
a channel with the information required (setting the LNB, DiSEqC etc.), select PRESET choosing the
preset channel to be modified. Then select “SAVE“.
BER -
Display the BER value of the receiver transponder. If the receiver is locked the BER value is 1.
Usually the BER value is better than 1E-3.
S/N -
Display the S/N ratio of the receiver transponder. If the receiver is locked the S/N ratio is 0. In
order to obtain good reception the S/N must be greater than 10dB.
