DROP BACK

FACILITY

Differentiates between
forward and drop back
movement of the line from the
Micron RX.  Runs & forward
movement are indicated as a
single tone with the LED
illuminated during movement
and latching for 20 seconds
afterwards.  Drop backs are
identified as a lower pitch
tone with a pulsing LED,
which remains ‘flashing’ for
20 seconds afterwards.

RADIO RECEIVER CODE

SETTING

Your receiver has been factory pre-set.  To
receive transmissions from your bite alarms the
code selector must be set to match that of
your Microns.  The receiver will automatically
distinguish the difference between a Red,
Yellow, Green or Blue head.  If you choose to
use more than one bite alarm with the same
colour LED, only that colour LED will illuminate
on the receiver.
N.B. - If you experience interference from
another angler within the receiver range, you
can simply alter one slide on the code
selectors in both Micron RX Digital and
receiver to select another code.

OUT-OF-RANGE WARNING

Test mode is selected by placing the toggle switch in the up position on your Micron RX.  The unit
will first transmit four beeps, at high pitch, to the receiver, to indicate that test mode has been
selected.  The unit itself will remain silent whilst in test mode - beeps are heard from the receiver
only, but the LED on the unit will illuminate, as it transmits each beep.  The unit will then transmit a
sequence of four beeps at medium pitch, repeating at intervals of approximately one second.  The
user can then walk away, with the receiver, to their desired location.  If the test signal can still be
heard from the receiver, it is within reception range.
· If using more than one bite indicator, select test mode on ONE unit only.  If more than one unit is
placed in test mode, the test signals will either be received intermittently at the receiver, or not
received at all.
· If all the bite indicators in use have good batteries, then it is safe to assume that they all have
similar transmission range.

The test signal will continue until either of the following occurs -
(i)  Test mode auto-cancels.  This will occur approximately five minutes after selecting test mode.
Both bite indicator and receiver will beep four times at high pitch, to indicate that test mode has
timed out.
(ii)   The unit is triggered, by line movement or vibration (only if vibration is selected).  If this
occurs, the unit will revert to normal mode and will give the usual audible and visual indications of
forward or dropback movement.

The receiver incorporates an out-of-range warning tone, which will sound when the receiver
recognises a transmission from a bite indicator, but the transmission is 'breaking up'.  Depending
on the conditions of use, signals from the bite indicator may also not be received at all, at the
extremities of range, which will result in missing or shortened 'beeps'.
Determining the limits of range is most conveniently done with the bite indicator in test mode.  As
the limit is reached, the test signal will begin to break up, with missing or shortened beeps,
interspersed with the distinctive 'crash' tone, indicating out-of-range.

· Out-of-range tone also operates when the bite indicators are in normal mode.

SIGNAL RECEPTION

· When the system is used near buildings, trees
or other obstacles, 'dead spots' may occur,
caused by reflections of the radio signal.  This
does not necessarily indicate the end of the
range - the user should try moving slightly
further away or repositioning the receiver to
find satisfactory reception.  This situation is a
normal property of low power radio systems
and is not indicative of a fault.
· Transmission range of all radio systems is
highly dependent upon the terrain in which
they are used and can be affected by
obstacles, interference from other sources,
height above ground and the proximity of
other objects, to both the receiver and
transmitter antennae.  The specified range of
200m+ is a typical figure when used on open,
level ground, with the transmitter approx 50cm
from ground level and the receiver approx 1m
from ground level.

LEATHER CASE

Available as an optional, the Leather Receiver Case
(E18066) features a belt clip and clear PVC window
to display LED’s.

VOLUME

CONTROL

Turn clockwise to increase
volume, anti-clockwise to
lower volume.
Tone differentiation on
receiver - the receiver now
accurately reproduces the tone setting on the
bite indicator, including 'two-tone' dropback
indications and all 'status' beeps, ie power-on,
low battery etc.
