The saw blade must be lowered as much as possible to avoid injuries. 

 
1.

 

Using the handle crank 2 for height adjustment, lower the saw blade low enough that hole A in riving knife 9 
is still accessible. 
 

2.

 

Loosen the wing nut 8 on the saw blade protector and remove it together with the bolt screw and washer. 

 

 

3.

 

Position  the  saw  blade  protector  8  with  its  slit  on  the  riving  knife,  and  again  the  hole  in  the  saw  blade 

protector with the hole in the riving knife. 
 

4.
