Camera filters
Camera filters are provided as a range of mostly longpass filters with a variety of cut-off
wavelengths. For normal viewing, a shortpass or bandpass filter is used in the camera viewing path
to mimic the response of the unaided eye. The optical filters are mounted on filter wheels
controlled by the VSC
®
software.
For normal viewing, a shortpass or bandpass filter is used in the camera viewing path to mimic
the response of the unaided eye.
Fluorescence examination (Recommended setting)
The safe viewing of fluorescence requires a longpass filter whose cut-off wavelength exceeds the
long wavelength cut-off of the excitation light. For most wavebands of excitation light, there are
several safe viewing filters with progressively longer cut-off wavelengths. The recommended safe
viewing filter is generally the safe viewing filter with the shortest cut-off wavelength. Other safe
viewing filters with cut-
