To Connect the FortiAP unit
1. Connect one
grounding cable
to the grounding lug on the FortiAP unit (bottom middle of unit),
using the provided grounding screw, then connect the other end of the cable to an appropriate
ground connection.
2. Connect the
surge protector’s
grounding cable to an appropriate ground connection.
3. Connect one end of the
Power Cord
to the
PoE Injector
, then plug the
region-specific AC
end
of the
Power Cord
into an appropriate outlet. The
Power LED
on the
PoE Injector
will light up.
4. Connect one end of a cross-over Ethernet cable to the
LAN port
on the
PoE injector
. Connect
the other end to the FortiGate
controller
or an
Internet connection
. Do
not
connect the
PoE
injector
to a PoE enabled Ethernet port.
5. Using the supplied weatherproof connector, connect the weatherproof, straight-through
Ethernet cable on the
right side
of the
surge protector
to one of the
PoE ports
on the bottom
of the FortiAP unit, as described in
“Cabling” on page 9
.
6. Connect the straight-through Ethernet cable on the
left side
of the
surge protector
into the
PoE
port
on the
PoE injector
.
