Vehicle battery
BATTERY CARE
The battery requires very little
maintenance. The fluid level is checked
regularly during the routine service
inspections.
USING BOOSTER CABLES
WARNINGS
Jump starting could be dangerous
if done incorrectly. Therefore, if
the following conditions cannot be met,
or if you are uncertain about them, we
strongly recommend that you leave the
operation to a
competent mechanic or
towing service.
Do not attempt a jump-start if
the discharged battery is frozen
or if the battery fluid level is low, as the
battery may rupture or explode.
Flames, sparks or lit cigarettes
can cause the gases around the
battery to explode, causing injury and
damage. Keep these flammable items
away from the battery.
CAUTIONS
Connect batteries with only the
same nominal voltage.
Always use booster cables with
insulated clamps and adequate
size cable.
Do not disconnect the battery
from the vehicle’s electrical
system.
To connect the booster cables
CAUTIONS
Do not connect to the
negative (–) terminal of the
flat battery.
Make sure that the jump leads are
clear of any moving parts.
Position the vehicles so they do not

touch.
Switch off the engine and any

electrical equipment.
Connect the positive (+) terminal of

the battery plus connection with the
positive (+) terminal of the battery on
other vehicle.
