GENERAL DRONE FAQ
Where can I fly my new drone?
• None of our drones require FAA registration or permitting so long as you
a)
are flying recreationally
and
b)
maintain line of sight with your drone
• Even so, there are applicable FAA rules; we recommend downloading the
guidance on where to fly
How do I safely operate my new drone?
• If you’re just starting out, try flying your drone in open spaces with plenty of grass to cushion your
“unintentional landings”
• Keep your drone away from people and animals
• Mind the wind
• Don’t touch the motor, propellers or any moving parts when the drone is on
• Unplug/take out the battery before working on your drone
• Let your drone cool for a few minutes in between battery changes
• Before a crash, throttle down to zero if possible
• Also, feel free to watch this
on how to avoid those unintentional landings
How do I charge the battery?
• First, plug in the USB or wall charger to the battery, then connect the USB charger to your power source
(do not use a gaming console)
• When fully charged, you should see a green light
• Average charge time is 50 minutes
• Want max battery power? Check out this quick video on
LI-PO battery care and safety.
Can you provide a preflight checklist?
You bet! Try this:
• Make sure your drone and controller battery are fully charged
• Make sure the throttle (left stick) is in the lowest position before takeoff
• Follow your drone’s power on/off instructions closely
• Ensure a clear flight area
• Keep direct line of sight with your drone at all times
• Avoid flying your drone beyond your control signal range. Your controller
should alert you when you’re getting close
• MOST IMPORTANT: HAVE FUN!
