Safety Instructions
WARNING Read all safety
warnings and all instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings
and instructions may result in electric
shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions
for future reference.
1) TRAINING
a) Read the instructions carefully.
Become familiar with the controls
and the correct use of the machine
before attempting to operate the
machine.
b) Never allow children or people
unfamiliar with these instructions
to use the machine. Local regula-
tions can restrict the age of the
operator.
c) Keep in mind that the operator or
user is responsible for accidents
or hazards occurring to other peo-
ple or their property.
d) Never operate the machine when
you are tired, ill or under the influ-
ence of alcohol, drugs or medi-
cine.
2) PREPARATION
a) This machine can cause serious
injuries. Read the instructions
carefully for the correct handling,
preparation, maintenance, start-
ing and stopping of the machine.
Become familiar with all controls
and the proper use of the machine.
b) Beware of overhead power lines.
c) Never operate while people, espe-
cially children, or pets are nearby.
d) Dress properly! Do not wear loose
clothing or jewellery, which can
be caught in moving parts. Use
sturdy gloves, long trousers, non-
skid footwear and safety glasses.
e) If the cutting mechanism strikes
any foreign object or the machine
starts making any unusual noise
or vibration, shut off the machine
and allow the machine to com-
pletely stop. Remove the battery
and take the following steps:
- Inspect the machine for dam-
age.
- Check for and tighten any loose
parts or screws.
- Have any damaged parts re-
placed or repaired with parts
having equivalent specifica-
tions.
f) The handle must be installed to
the upper shaft only.
g) Check the working area for hidden
wiring.
3) OPERATION
a) This machine should not be used
for any other purpose than de-
scribed.
b) While operating, always wear sub-
stantial footwear and long trou-
sers. Do not operate the machine
when barefoot or wearing open
sandals. Wear protective glasses.
c)
Thoroughly inspect the area
where the machine is to be used
and remove all objects which can
be thrown by the machine.
d) Before using the machine and af-
ter any impact, check for signs of
wear or damage and repair as nec-
essary.
e) Never operate the machine with
damaged guards or without the
guards in place.
f) Keep hands and feet away from
the cutting means at all times and
especially when switching on the
machine.
g) Never allow children or people un-
familiar with the instructions to
use the machine.
h) Stop using the machine while
people, especially children, or
pets are nearby.
