i) Only use the machine in daylight
or good artificial light.
j) Stop the machine before cleaning
or when cleaning blockage.
k) Stop the machine before check-
ing, carrying out maintenance or
working on the machine.
l) Stop the machine before adjust-
ing the working position of the
cutting device.
m) Stop the machine before leaving
the machine unattended.
n) Ensure that the machine is cor-
rectly located in a designated
working position before starting
the machine.
o) While operating the machine, al-
ways ensure that the operating
position is safe and secure. Keep
the balance at all time. Always
be sure of the footing on slopes.
Walk, never run.
p) Never use any metalic cutting
means.
q) To reduce fire hazards, keep the
machine free of debris, leaves and
excessive lubricant.
r) Always ensure that all handles
and guards are fitted when using
the machine. Never attempt to
use an incomplete machine or one
fitted with an unauthorised modi-
fication.
s) Always use two hands to operate
a machine with two handles.
t) Always be aware of your sur-
roundings and stay alert for possi-
ble hazards of which you may not
be aware due to the noise of the
machine.
u) Take care against injury from any
device fitted for trimming the fila-
ment line length. After extending
new cutter line always return the
machine to its normal operating
position before switching on.
v) Always ensure that ventilation
openings are kept clear of debris.
w) Avoid using the machine in bad
weather conditions. especially if
there is a risk of lightning.
4) MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
a) When the machine is stopped for
servicing, inspection or storage,
shut off the machine, remove the
battery and make sure all moving
parts have come to a complete
stop. Allow the machine to cool
before making any inspections,
adjustments, etc.
b) Always allow the machine to cool
down before storing.
c) When not in use store the ma-
chine out of the reach of children.
d) Use only manufacturers recom-
mended replacement parts and
accessories.
e) When transporting or storing the
machine, always fit the cutting de-
vice transport guard.
f) Store the product in a dry, clean
place protected from direct sun-
light and only after the battery
has been removed.
5) RESIDUAL RISKS
Even if the machine is operated in
accordance with the provision, re-
sidual risks will always still remain.
The following dangers can arise in
connection with the structure and
design of the machine:
a) Health defects resulting from vi-
bration emission if the machine is
being used over longer period of
time or not adequately managed
and properly maintained.
b) Injuries and damage to property
due to broken accessories or hid-
den objects that are suddenly
dashed.
c) Injuries and damage to property
due to thrown objects.
