2 Description of motor
The electronic system of the brushless motor FBM 4000 controls the tension, the
speed, the temperature and protects the motor from overload.

Temperature monitoring
The temperature of the field winding of the motor and the temperature of the elec-
tronic system are monitored. If one of these temperatures exceeds the correspond-
ing limit, the motor is automatically stopped. When the motor has cooled down, it
can be restarted.

Speed monitoring
The motor always tries, no matter its load, to reach the pre-set speed. If this is not
possible, the speed is decreased until a stable condition is reached. If the speed
falls below 4000 1/min due to overload, the motor stops automatically.

Supply voltage monitoring
If the supply voltage is too low or too high, the motor cannot be started.

The motor features a low rate of wear and is suitable for continuous operation.

4 Installation and Commissioning
> Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the rating
plate.
> Place the motor on the pump.
Risk of injury!

Only operate the pump when the union nut between the pump and
the motor is tightened hand-tight.
Explosion hazard!

Therefore, produce equipotential bonding before commissioning the
pump in hazardous areas!
> Immerse the pump vertically into the liquid and secure it in a vertical position by the
use of a barrel fitting or a screw clamp.
> Check the mains connection cable for damage before every use.
> Keep the mains connection cable away from solvents.
> Set the on/off switch to "0" (Stop) before connecting the mains plug.
> Connect or insert the mains plug.
> Start the motor.
