For use in hazardous areas
Attention!
Observe the EC type examination certificate and the certificate of
conformity, respectively.
The pump must not be used as a stationary unit in hazardous loca-
tions.
Explosion hazard!
For use in hazardous locations only use explosion-proof electric
motors which are approved for category 2 (ZONE 1) or compressed
air motors.
For transferring liquids of explosion groups IIB, only pumps which
are certified for use in category 2 (ZONE 1) must be used.
If the motors are operated together with the pump, comprehensive,
clear equipotential bonding is essential (earthing).
Only use a conductive hose (conductive pipe system) with conduc-
tive connections of the hose screw connection and the fittings
(R<10
6
Ohm).
Connect the electric motor with an explosion-proof plug or via an
explosion-proof cable terminal box. If the socket resp. the terminal
box is clearly outside the hazardous area you can do without explo-
sion protection.
For equipotential bonding, an electrically conductive connection
must be produced between the motor and the pump according to
DIN EN 60079-0 and DIN EN 60079-14.
The eccentric worm drive pumps must be arranged in a way to avoid
friction and impact sparks and to allow safe operation.
Repair on explosion-proof motors may only be carried out by the
manufacturer or by an authorised repair shop.
When pumping non-conductive liquids, there is a risk of the
circulated liquid becoming electrostatically charged.
Make sure to prevent any ignition hazards.
The ex-protected motor, gear and coupling must be located outside
the mobile container.
The hose used must be sufficiently conductive (see TRbF 50 annex
B).
Observe the Technical Guidelines for "Flammable Liquids" (TRbF)
and the explosion protection guidelines of the Employer's Liability
Insurance Association of the Chemical Industry (BG Chemie) during
installation and operation.
Regularly check the motors according to the relevant national safety
regulations and/or rules for prevention of accidents. (In the Federal
Republic of Germany these are for example DGUV Vorschrift 3).
Fire hazard!
For transferring liquids of explosion groups IIB only pumps which
are certified for use in category 2 (ZONE 1) must be used.
